Bronze tripod is probably the most familiar bronze ware we have. History textbooks never forget to mention the famous Hou (Si) Mu Wu Ding. There are numerous Chinese idioms containing the word Ding. As for copper, students who know something about bronzes will not be strangers.
Simply put, the bronze tripod has various uses such as cooking meat, offering sacrifices and enjoying the swallow. It is the main food utensils in the bronze rituals. In ancient society, it was regarded as the symbol of the ruling class hierarchy and power.
The use of bronze peel is similar to that of the tripod for cooking, but peel mainly cooks grain crops, which can be proved by its name "zi, 1", "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" Volume 5, "Yue, millet in utensils, to sacrifice also. That is to say, millet is used for sacrifice. There is another use: cooking meat and small animals. In recent years, the unearthed bronze pegs with remnants in archaeological excavations have a good enlightenment for us to understand the function of bronze pegs.
If you want to distinguish the above two artifacts, it is very easy. The left side is the top and the right side is the tripod. The difference between the bronze tripod and the bronze peg is well known, including that the tripod is solid and the peg is empty, and that the tripod can be clearly divided into two parts: the abdomen and the foot, while the peg's abdomen and the foot cannot be separated. However, not all of them can be distinguished from you by so simple.
